Acceptable Use

This policy keeps our network safe and fast for everyone. It applies to every VantaHost service and to anyone using a service hosted with us.

Not allowed on any service

• Anything illegal in the United States, including fraud, and content that infringes copyrights or trademarks.
• Child sexual abuse material. Zero tolerance: accounts are terminated immediately and reported to the authorities.
• Malware, phishing pages, botnets, command-and-control servers or credential stealing.
• Denial-of-service attacks, "booter" or "stresser" services, and network scanning, brute-forcing or exploiting systems you don't own or have permission to test.
• Spam or bulk unsolicited email, and open mail relays.
• Cryptocurrency mining, unless we have approved it in writing.
• Hosting content that promotes violence, terrorism or harassment of others.
• Reselling our services without a reseller agreement.

Game servers

• Follow the game publisher's server rules and EULA.
• Game server plans are for running game servers and related tools (for example Discord bots for your community), not general-purpose computing.

Fair use of shared resources

Game and cloud hosting plans share hardware with other customers. Services that use far more CPU, disk or network than their plan allows, in a way that harms others, may be limited. We will contact you and help you move to a suitable plan where possible.

VPS

You have full control of your VPS and are responsible for keeping it secure and updated. A compromised VPS that is attacking others will be isolated until it is fixed.

Enforcement

Depending on how serious the problem is, we may warn you, limit or suspend the service, or terminate it without refund. Serious or illegal abuse may be terminated immediately and reported.
